Love Island fans rejoice as Olivia is booted from the show… but are left speechless at plot twist

Love Island fans rejoiced in joy on Wednesday night after host Maya Jama announced that Olivia and Maxwell had been dumped from the island.

But their delight quickly turned into shock, as the host informed the islanders that the newly departed would be the ones to choose who leaves next.

Long been dubbed as the shows ‘villain’, fans could not wait to see Olivia leave the programme.

She and newly exclusive Maxwell had been dumped from the show after receiving the fewest votes from the public.

Asked about how they felt on leaving, Olivia said: ‘Obviously it’s sad to leave these guys. 

‘But I’ve found what i came looking for so I’m happy to be leaving with him.’

And while fans were waiting for them to make their long anticipated exit, instead they were handed a shock decision.

In a plot twist never before seen, it is now up to them to decide which two other islanders will be following them out the door.

In their pick, they have Claudia and Keanen, Rosie and Casey and Tanya and Shaq – who also received the fewest amount of votes from the public.

Taking to Twitter as the episode aired, fans were left with a whirlwind of emotions.

One fan wrote: ‘Oh my god. Greatest twist yet. She’s gone and she gets to be evil’.

Another added: ‘We have done it! She is gone – who is she taking with her?’

Lost for words, a third said: ‘OH MY GOOOOD WTF IS THIS’

‘The witch is finally gone’, a fourth added.  

A fifth said: ‘Either way, I’m just glad Olivia is OUT’.

Some fans were not so happy with the plot twist however.

‘Why give Liv the satisfaction??? Wtaf’, one questioned.

Another agreed: ‘Why would they let Olivia choose??!!’

Jokingly, another fan asked: ‘Does Liv have a contract with ITV? They just have to let her have the final say don’t they’.

A fourth said: ‘Ffs, how can you give such a villain a decision like this?’  

It comes after fans were left happy after Jessie called out Olivia earlier in the episode for going ‘behind her back’ and called her ‘fake’.

It all started after the Aussie beauty decided to give her opinion following Casey confronting pals Will and Tom.

But Jessie quickly found herself facing the wrath of the islanders who started labelling her as ‘fake’. 

Making her opinion known, Olivia told the girls she didn’t believe all of Jessie’s actions were ‘genuine’.

Sticking up for their girl, Claudia and Samie then took Jessie to one side to tell her what had been said. 

Jessie, raging, then made her way towards Olivia to call her out.

As all the girls in the Villa gather around, Jessie asks: ‘What’s going on?’

Claudia adds: ‘Let’s just clear the air because us girls are meant to stick together.’

Lana says: ‘First of all, can I just say this doesn’t need to be a screaming match, this is a lot of over nothing.’

As the conversation got underway, Jessie said: ‘I’ve just come back from a chat with Casey and everyone in the Villa says that everyone’s talking about something and I’m very confused. 

‘I’ve stood by all of you, even on Movie Night, I stood up for all of you girls.’

Claudia added: ‘The word fake was used.’

Olivia interjected: ‘I never said fake, please don’t say I’ve said fake because I didn’t. I just don’t think this is a conversation we need to have between all of us.’

Jessie asks Olivia: ‘Well Liv, would you like to have a conversation just us?’

Olivia responds: ‘Not really, not right now.’

Jessie says: ‘So you’re happy to walk over to the day beds and speak to a whole group of people about how you think I’m questionable but not have a discussion with me.’

Olivia tells Jessie: ‘It’s not just me though, you’re coming at me.’

Jessie responded: ‘You’re coming at me behind my back, calling me fake! Just say it to my face’.

Olivia, still denying the accusations, said she never used the word ‘fake’.

But taking to Twitter as the episode aired, fans rejoiced in the news that the ring girl was being called for her behaviour.

One fan wrote: ‘Finally the girls are waking up to Olivia’s antics’.

Another said: ‘Finally Olivia is getting some heat!’

‘This might be the situation we need for everyone to turn on Olivia’, a third added.

Praising Claudia and Samie for having her back, another fan added: ‘Let’s put it this way… I’d rather be friends with Jessie, Claudia and Samie than Olivia, Lana and Rosie…’
