In the most recent episode of the reality series, which aired on USA Network, Todd can be seen pulling up to daughter Savannah’s home in his extravagant purchase to great fanfare.

Julie’s father, Harvey Hughes, appears awestruck as he says: ‘You’ve got to be kidding me – a ’60 Corvette!’

He marveled at the car and continued: ‘Son, you know some of the best memories I have in my life start with a ’60 Corvette.’

Todd’s father-in-law quizzed him about the car’s internal systems and asked about the four-speed function.

But Todd simply responded: ‘Well I wouldn’t know about those kinds of things. I bought it because I look good in it.’

Julie also seemed nonchalant at the extravagant spend and praised the vehicle as ‘amazing.’

She told viewers in a piece-to-camera interview that she thought the car represented a ‘perfect opportunity’ for her father and husband to bond.

Later in the episode, Todd revealed that he had named Jayne Mansfield after the 1950s and ’60s sex symbol, and took the convertible to a classic car show.

Online car marketplace Autotrader has a selection of active listings for a 1960 Chevrolet Corvette with the same color detailing – costing anywhere between $71,000 and $259,000 depending on the condition.

Todd’s purchase came just months before he was convicted for their part in a $30million tax fraud.

He and Julie are currently serving out their time at two separate facilities, Todd’s is in Pensacola, Florida, and Julie’s is in Lexington, Kentucky.

The stars rose to fame thanks to their USA reality show Chrisley Knows Best, which premiered in 2014 and documented their day-to-day lives alongside their children.

In the series, Todd and Julie worked hard to portray the image of devoted parents and devout Christians.

But their picture-perfect on-screen images were ripped apart when it was brought to light that they had scammed the bank by submitting fake documents when applying for loans.

In addition, Todd’s former business partner Mark Braddock shocked the world when he claimed that he had a gay love affair with the father-of-five during the trial – further shattering the reality star’s long-cultivated reputation.

While on the stand, Mark, 57, told the court that he and Todd engaged in a brief romance in the early 2000s , while speaking in detail about Todd’s crimes.
