NRL star Tom Burgess’ wife Tahlia Giumelli shares clever money savvy parenting advice and why she never buys her children gifts

She’s a proud mother to daughters Sophie, four, and Elodie, two, who she shares with her husband Tom Burgess.

And on Monday, Tahlia Giumelli shared her clever money savvy parenting advice with her Instagram followers.

The 30-year-old model revealed she doesn’t buy her two children gifts and instead deposits money in a bank account for when they get older.

‘When the girls were born, I set up bank accounts for them. We put money in them instead of buying lots of birthday/ Christmas gifts and if family or friends want to get the kids something, we ask they put money in their account,’ Tahlia explained.

‘Our girls are spoilt with toys so they don’t need more. Decided to invest this instead of sitting in a bank account.’

‘We won’t be touching this until they are 25. Hoping it provides them with something to be able to put a deposit on a home, a car, travel or pay for their education.’

She continued: ‘We don’t plan on telling the kids about this. I don’t want them to sit around thinking they are going to be handed something at 25, so they continue to work hard but might be a nice little surprise for them.’

Tahlia married her footy star husband in January 2022.

The social media influencer also announced last year she had been diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

After her diagnosis, Tahlia started reading two popular books about the condition, Women with Attention Deficit Disorder and The Disorganized Mind.

‘These are the two books recommended to me by my psychiatrist,’ she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Tahlia called Women with Attention Deficit Disorder ‘an eye opener’, explaining that it was the first thing she read after being diagnosed.

ADHD is a mental health condition with symptoms that include trouble focusing, hyperactivity and impulsive behaviour.
