MAFS editing fail as digital clock exposes commitment ceremony secret

MAFS suffers yet another editing fail as a digital clock next to Rupert reveals a little-known secret about the commitment ceremonies

Eagle-eyed Married At First Sight viewers noticed a major editing fail during last Sunday’s episode.

One observant fan took to post a screenshot of the scene in question to Reddit along with an explanation of the mistake.

The scene shows Rupert Bugden getting ready for the commitment ceremony, which is believed to be filmed at night.

However, the digital clock near Rupert’s bed shows the time as being 9.45am, which proves that filming takes place over the course of a whole day and night.

‘This was Rupert getting ready for last week’s commitment ceremony. Note the time,’ the viewer captioned the image.

Another wrote: ‘Coworker was on this show a few seasons ago and he said for dinner parties in particular, they’ll get there at 11am and drink until 7pm then they will serve dinner.’

‘He said you’d be sitting there for hours and a new couple would come in every hour or so. They’d want to get you as drunk as possible basically.’

A third explained: ‘Past participants have said they start arriving around midday and are filming until the likes of 3am for the dinner parties.’

It follows an unfortunate editing fail from an episode of MAFS last month.

During Tayla Winter and Hugo Armstrong’s wedding, eagle-eyed fans noticed the guest walking the bride down the aisle was wearing an earpiece in his left ear.

While the device was hidden, it became visible when he turned his head to the side while walking Tayla towards her new groom.

Reality stars often wear earpieces during filming so they can receive instructions from producers.

Married At First Sight viewers also spotted another awkward detail that indicates the popular Channel Nine show is scripted.

Fans noticed Harrison Boon grabbing the collar of his shirt and speaking to producers through his lapel microphone during the dinner party two weeks ago.

A slow-motion video of the moment was shared by the MAFS fan account @mafs.bachie.reality.

‘Harrison talking into his mic. He’s probably saying, “Get me the f**k out of here,”‘ read the caption.

Former MAFS contestant Jackson Lonie, who appeared on season nine, said it was more likely Harrison was just telling the producers he needed the bathroom.
