Bangladesh beat England by four wickets to go up 2-0 in the three match series as Matthew Mott’s batsman fail to deliver in Dhaka

  • England lost the first game of the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh
  • Visitors bowled out for 117 as they batted first looking to level the series
  • Bangladesh chased down the 118 they needed with plenty of time to spare

Bangladesh have beaten England by four wickets having been set a target of 118 in the sides’ second of three T20 matches.

The hosts won the first and were set a very presentable opportunity to take an unassailable lead in the series when England’s top order failed to deliver having batted first. Ben Duckett top scored for the visitors with a scratchy 28.

Chasing down the total, Taskin Ahmed hit the winning runs with a four off Chris Jordan to spark wild celebrations among the Bangladesh players.

England’s top order once again toiled in Bangladesh as they were bowled out for just 117.

Looking to draw level in the series, England were ripped through by Bangladesh’s impressive and eclectic array of bowlers to leave them on the brink in the three-match series.

Top scoring for the Jos Buttler’s side, Ben Duckett struck 28 from 28 batting in the middle order. Phil Salt, opening, had hit 25 from 19.

Rehan Ahmed, who became the first teenager to appear for England’s T20 side, having become the country’s youngest Test debutant last year in Pakistan, struck 11 before being run out.

The performance will concern skipper Buttler, with his side at present struggling to live up to the dizzying heights set in white ball cricket under the previous captaincy incumbent Eoin Morgan and also at last year’s World Cup in Australia.
