Locky and Irena wedding: Feral bridesmaids fight over the bouquet

Chaotic footage has surfaced of female guests wrestling over the bridal bouquet at the wedding of Bachelor stars Irena Srbinovska and Locky Gilbert.

The couple exchanged vows at a lavish venue in Melbourne on Friday, but things became decidedly rowdy during the reception when it came time for Irena to toss her bouquet.

According to superstition, whoever catches the bouquet is supposedly next to walk down the aisle. 

Bridesmaids Stephanie Lynch and Laura O’Loughlin, who both competed for Jimmy Nicholson’s roses on The Bachelor in 2021, found themselves battling for flowers yet again after Irena threw her white bouquet into the crowd.

Footage taken by fellow bridesmaid Alisha Aitken-Radburn shows Stephanie and Laura lunging, grappling and clawing at each other in an attempt to secure the coveted posy.

Bella Colwell, another Bachelor contestant from Locky’s season in 2020, attempts to enter the fray, before tripping over Stephanie and tumbling onto the dance floor.

Petals go flying everywhere as Stephanie attempts to rip the flowers out of Laura’s hands, but not before Laura manages to declare herself victorious.

‘The most dramatic bouquet toss in Bachelor history,’ Alisha captioned the footage.

The video garnered a mixed response, with some saying it was ‘hilarious’ and ‘brutal’, while others called the women’s behaviour ’embarrassing’. 

‘Someone really wants to get married,’ one fan commented, while another added: ‘Desperate is not a vibe.’

‘Ladies, if you’re throwing yourself at him like this he should be tossed. Not the bouquet,’ wrote fellow Bachelor star-turned-relationship guru Belinda ‘Love’ Rygier. 

Bachelor host Osher Günsberg applauded the women for their efforts, commenting: ‘You’re puttin’ the real into reality. Solid effort.’
