Law Roach FURIOUSLY denies claims that he told client Priyanka Chopra ‘she wasn’t sample sized’

Former celebrity stylist Law Roach has furiously hit out at claims that he told Priyanka Chopra ‘she wasn’t sample sized.’

The image architect, 44, had been engulfed in speculation after Chopra revealed that she was reduced to tears by the ‘body shaming’ comments.

But, addressing the rumors in an interview with The Cut published on Friday, Roach insisted that the pair ‘never had that conversation.’

He instead claimed that it was the actress’s ‘gatekeepers’ who had misconstrued his feedback.

Chopra appeared at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival on March 10 to reveal that ‘body shaming’ comments left her in tears – and fans were quick to suspect Roach was the person in question.

Speaking at the event, the mother-of-one, 40, said: ‘Someone told me yesterday that I wasn’t sample-sized…

‘I was hurt and I discussed it with my family, and I cried to my husband [Nick Jonas], and my team, and I felt really bad about the fact that I’m not sample size, and that’s a problem, apparently, and most of us are not,’ according to People.

Chopra did not name Roach, who was previously her stylist, but rumors quickly began to swirl.

And, in his most recent interview, Roach acknowledged the incident but furiously denied that he had made the comments as Chopra claimed.

Roach told the publication: ‘It was a little bit hurtful in a way that it ended up in the press because that wasn’t the real conversation. I’ve never had that conversation with her, ever.

‘So again, it is her gatekeepers, how they presented what I said to her to make her feel that way. And if that made her feel bad, that wasn’t – it was taken out of context.

‘But I’m sure it was taken out of context to get her to be like, “Oh, okay, I’m not working with him no more. He’s insensitive to my body.” Which I’m like, how is that possible? I’ve been dressing you for literally pre-pandemic, and it’s been nothing but great things.’

Asked specifically about whether he thought her agents were trying to make him ‘look bad,’ Roach added: ‘I think sometimes what it is with them is that they have an agenda and they can’t say – I need to be the bad guy because I’m the one who’s dealing with the clothes and the body.’

He then went on to list other celebrities who were ‘not sample sized’ that he has worked with previously including Anne Hathaway after she gave birth, Tiffany Haddish and Lizzo.

The interview comes just days after Law’s shock retirement as a celebrity stylist.

Last week, he posted a picture to Instagram which showed a red sign that had ‘RETIRED’ written in large white letters.

‘My Cup is empty….. thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all,’ he wrote in the caption.

‘If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not!’ he added.

‘The politics, the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win… I’m out.’

Law has yet to comment on his plans post-retirement, sparking speculation that he may have something big in the works.

He has already appeared as a model on the catwalk for Boss, but there have also been rumors that he has been hired as a creative director of a brand or is about to launch something of his own, W Magazine reported.

He was also the genius behind Celine Dion’s style renaissance in 2016. After working with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, he has turned into a star in his own right.

Over the years, he served as a judge on fashion competition shows America’s Next Top Model and Legendary, and he was honored with the inaugural stylist award at the 2022 CFDA Awards last fall.
