Sydney man fractured skull after brawl outside bar

A 25-year-old man was rushed to hospital with a fractured skull on Sunday night after he was assaulted outside a bar located in Sydney’s Surry Hills.

The man was leaving the venue on Mary Street at around 2.50am when he was allegedly attacked in an incident involving four other men.

He has since been released from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he was treated for severe head injuries, although he has suffered permanent hearing loss.

Detectives from Surry Hills Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault, and have released CCTV images of four men who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The first man has been described as being Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance with a stocky build and dark short hair with a rat’s tail and a beard. At the time of the offence he was wearing a black polo shirt with tan shorts and white shoes.

The second man is described as Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance with a stocky build with black hair and a beard. He had no shirt with red and grey shorts and white shoes. He was carrying a white bag across his chest.

The third man has been described as Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance with a slim build and short black hair with a beard. He was wearing tan shorts with a white singlet and black shoes.

The fourth man is also of Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, bald head with a beard and wearing a light coloured shirt with blue jeans.
