Here come the girls! Glamorous guests brave the grey weather in vibrant mini dresses as Leopardstown Student Day kicks off

The weather in Dublin may be grey and dull today – but that didn’t stop female racegoers bringing the glam to the annual Leopardstown races.

The Student Race Day returned today for an afternoon of thrilling sport, fashion, and entertainment at the racecourse.

As they arrived for the afternoon of sport, glamorous groups of students posed for photos before joining the crowds.

This year, the races have brought back their Best Dressed competition in collaboration with fashion e-tailer Shein – with the winner being treated to an online shopping spree.

Although the weather wasn’t on their side, stylish trio Abby O’Keeffe, Reece Delaney and Nancy May Leatch didn’t let that stand in the way of their summery coordinating outfits.

The chic students all matched in varying pastel shades this afternoon – with one donning an off-shoulder lilac dress while another stunned in mint green.

Although they all arrived wearing pairs of white heels, they each had a pair of flat shoes dangling from their handbags to wear later in the night.

And this trio weren’t the only guests who decided to coordinate their outfits – as another group chose a mostly white and orange colour scheme.

Huddling together for a photo, one member of the glam group stunned in a figure-hugging white jumpsuit while others opted for vivid orange mini dresses.

Meanwhile, another gorgeous gaggle of eight students happily posed for a group photo outside the stadium.

While two were summery in strapless satin styles, the group braved the lacklustre weather conditions in a stunning selection of midi dresses.

As well as eight great races including the Listed Gradguide Heritage Stakes, students are set to enjoy a multitude of entertainment from Soulé and SPIN1038 DJ Jamie Maguire.

What’s more, guests will also be able to share footage from their afternoon at the races which has been filmed on a 360 degree video camera – reminiscent of the kind that often grace red carpets.

The event is a sell out every year and was even more hotly anticipated in 2022 as Leopardstown Racecourse welcomed students back after two year’s off-campus.

It is often one of the biggest events in the Dublin student calendar.
