Heated debate after woman’s husband loses it at her for checking his pockets before doing the laundry: ‘You have no respect for my privacy’
- A man screamed at his wife for going through his pockets
- He claimed she ‘violated his privacy’ and bought a locked closet
A woman was slammed for ‘violating’ her husband’s privacy by checking his pockets before putting his clothes in the wash.
The wife, 33, was simply doing a load of laundry when her husband began yelling at her.
She was caught ‘red-handed’ with her hands in his pockets while checking that he hadn’t left anything important in them.
The husband was furious about his wife’s actions and bought himself a separate closet with a lock and key to keep her away from his clothes.

‘I grabbed [my husband’s] work pants and digged my hand in its pockets to empty them before putting it in the washing machine like I always do,’ the woman wrote in a Reddit post.
‘My husband just happened to walk by and he rushed in yelling at me to put his pants down,’ she revealed.
‘I had found a folded piece of paper but he snatched it then started screaming at me about how I have no respect for his privacy and that I shouldn’t be getting my hands on his things.’
The woman admitted to being ‘genuinely dumbfounded’ and revealed that she always checked through clothes before putting them in the washing machine.
Her husband then ‘lashed out’ at her and claimed she should have asked for permission before going through his clothes in case she ruined an ‘important document’ like the piece of paper she pulled out of his pants.
‘I said important documents shouldn’t be inside his pockets and asked to see the paper but he said he won’t show me,’ she said.
The wife added, ‘He said I don’t get to ask him jack s**t after I disrespected his privacy. I almost laughed because what privacy does he have in pockets? It wasn’t like a stranger was digging into them.’
The husband has since refused to speak to his wife and purchased a new closet with a lock in order to ‘teach her a lesson’ about ‘privacy’ and ‘snooping’.

Many sided with the wife and claimed her husband was acting ‘insane’.
‘H’s obviously hiding something,’ one woman said. ‘No sane person with nothing to hide locks up their clothes.’
‘It’s completely normal to go through pockets when doing the laundry, either to take out forgotten cash or receipts.’
‘I bet he would be yelling at her for not looking through the pockets if a watch, a pair of headphones, or a pen had gone thorough the wash.’
‘He’s 100% cheating on you.’
But others were suspicious of the woman’s behaviour.
‘You’re not telling us the whole story here,’ a man wrote. ‘He wouldn’t react like that just because you were doing laundry.
‘Why were you looking through his pockets? This is very shady.’
‘I’ve been married for 20 years and we don’t touch each other’s stuff.’
