Johnny Depp looks worse for wear at London premiere

Johnny Depp appeared worse-for-wear as he hit the red carpet at the Murder on the Orient Express world premiere in London on Thursday.

The Hollywood star walked the red carpet in front of hundreds of fans while assisted by an aide, leading to suggestions he had indulged before the launch with sources telling The Sun: ‘Everyone thought he’d been drinking’.

Appearing at the glamorous event at the Royal Albert Hall, the 54-year-old is said to have ‘reeked of alcohol’ while mingling with co-stars Dame Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz and Kenneth Branagh, who both directed and star in the film.

High spirits! Johnny Depp appeared in London for the premiere of Murder on the Orient Express on Thursday looking a little worse for wear

Dressed in a smart black tuxedo with his bow-tie loose, the star seemingly needed a chaperone to hold him as he entered the venue.

Pictures show his personal security guard, Jerry Judge appearing to hold the Pirates of the Caribbean star up, fueling talk that Johnny was having a big night out.

And the star was also said to have visited notorious London club The Box the night before, with one source telling The Sun: ‘Johnny didn’t hold back. Johnny was having big old night and was told off for smoking three times while inside…

‘But on the night of the premiere, he was in a strange mood and everyone thought he’d been drinking.’

While the star was also said to have been heard despairing about his acrimonious split from Amber Heard. The source added: ‘You can see why there are still some serious fears about his wellbeing.’

Johnny split from Amber earlier in the year amid accusations of domestic abuse.

They had married in February 2015, tying the knot on the beach of the Mortdecai star’s private island Little Hall’s Pond Cay in the Bahamas with just 24 guests in attendance. It’s understood that Johnny and Amber had married legally in Los Angeles first.

News of their split first surfaced in May last year, with Amber filing for divorce from the actor the same month. She was granted a temporary restraining order from Depp, forcing him to stay at least 100 yards away and avoid any contact with her.

It was later withdrawn in August when the pair’s divorce reached a settlement. At the time a joint statement was released by Heard and Depp that read: ‘Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains. There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm.

‘Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity.’

According to TMZ, Depp agreed to pay his ex-wife $7million to settle the case.

Meanwhile, the day before his appearance at the Murder On The Orient Express premiere, Johnny was seen clad in full Twenties garb, complete with a pinstripe suit, slicked back hair and thin moustache, as he headed out to Soho’s The Box nightclub.

Appearing bleary-eyed, he departed while surrounded by aides, after an evening at the hotspot – which is described on its website as a theatre of varieties, in which cabaret acts have been known to perform using excrement and sex acts.

He paired the look with monochrome spats, a white pocket square and a red poppy to pay tribute to the upcoming Remembrance Day.

Puffing on a cigarillo, his slicked back hair and moustache truly tied together all elements of the retro look to perfection. While Johnny is typically seen in bohemian-style ensembles, this look was worlds away from his usual style.

In the movie, Johnny stars as doomed gangster Samuel Ratchett – who is depicted in ensembles extremely similar to his look on Wednesday.
