Shoppers flock to get their hands on Target’s $20 microwavable heat-up boots – but not everyone is on board
- Target Australia is now selling microwavable slipper boots for only $20
- The fluffy boots are filled with non-toxic silica beads to retain heat
Shoppers are mesmerised by Target’s new microwavable slipper boots.
Retailing for a mere $20, the fluffy boots are perfect to keep your feet warm at home throughout the cooler months.
The heat-up slippers are one-size-fits-all and presently available in pink and white.
Despite their convenience, many are concerned about the boots being unhygienic.
The slippers are filled with non-toxic silica beads to retain heat and can be used to provide temporary relief from aches and pains.

According to the care instructions, the slippers should be placed flat in the centre of the microwave and zapped for 30 to 45 seconds.
After heating them, shake the slippers to evenly distribute the temperature and test the heat on the back of your hand.
Due to the slippers only being available in light colours, it is recommended to ensure your microwave is free of food stains before heating.
The product should only be reheated once the slippers have returned to room temperature.
The boots can also be used to provide relief of bruising and swelling by placing in a waterproof bag in the freezer for two hours then applying onto the affected area.
Some customers are shocked by how unhygienic the product is and have gone so far as to refuse to dine at an owner’s house.
‘Love for my microwave to smell like toe jams,’ a woman wrote sarcastically.
‘This is why I don’t eat at anyone’s house.’
‘Buy the slippers their own microwave as well.’
‘I would put it in first use but I would not put used shoes in my microwave.’
‘How many times would I have to wash it before they stop smelling like feet?’
But others were glad to have an easy way to keep their feet warm.
A woman wrote: ‘They’re really handy and help with my circulation issues!’
‘This is a great present for my mum.’
‘I really need to buy a pair of these for the winter!’
