Here comes the…mother-in-law! Woman is slammed for wearing a WEDDING DRESS to her son’s big day (and she’s even carrying a bouquet)
A mother-in-law has been heavily criticized for wearing a bridal-style dress to her son’s wedding.
The woman, who is believed to be from the US, was shamed on Reddit after a commenter shared snaps of her advert selling the gown.
The online ad showcased a cream semi sheer dress and read: ‘Mother of the groom or bride gown $750.’
In one snap the mother of the groom can be seen standing next to the bride and their gowns look almost identical.
It’s unknown how the bride reacted to the wardrobe choice, but Redditors are angry on her behalf.

Many suggested the women was ‘attention seeking’ and called the ensemble ‘cringe.’
One person wrote: ‘I looked at the second picture and it looks like it’s almost the exact same gown as the bride is wearing. So yeah, talk about inappropriate.’
Another said: ‘A less classy version of it too. The cutouts and cupping is so cringe (in an attention seeking way) I’m embarrassed for mother-in-law.’
While someone else wrote: ‘In the second picture you can see part of the brides dress. Mother-in-law picked this dress because it’s similar to the bride.’
The original poster added: ‘What gets me is that this ad was posted BY the mother-in-law, had a picture of her smiling down the aisle, and a picture with her, her son and daughter-in-law in it, AND posted it as a mother of the groom/bride gown.
‘Completely to read as if she had no remorse over wearing this dress, and as what she did was appropriate, AND encourage other horrible mothers-in-law to wear this to their daughter-in-law’s wedding too! I can’t find the ad anymore but so curious if anyone called her out on it.’

Another said: ‘I know, I noticed that too! It makes it worse. You literally think she’s the bride until you read the caption.’
While someone else wrote: ‘That stood out to me too! I have never seen that before. It’s strange.’
