A influencer has been slammed as being ‘unashamedly out of touch’ after she hit out at people who eat a diet of white bread and crisps and then wonder why they get ill.
Olympia Anley admitted she was ‘snobby’ about people’s weekly shop – and went on to hit out at shoppers who get processed food, claiming they’re choosing to put ‘cr*p’ into their bodies.
The UK-based TikToker, 20, who studies in Bristol, criticised the items she saw a woman at the supermarket purchasing – which included ‘junk food’ and ‘sachets’ of medicine.
‘I don’t wanna offend anyone with this video,’ she told the her followers, in a clip which has since racked up more than 1.1 million views.
‘But we live in a society that has normalised and literally encourages treating the symptom and not the cause. And I wanna talk about it.

‘Something which I’m quite snobby about – which I’m not proud of – are people’s food shops.’
Olympia – who has 322,800 followers and mostly creates vlog-style videos of her posh lifestyle – continued, focusing on the woman she had seen earlier.
‘I was at the supermarket this afternoon just doing my food shop and the woman in front of me,’ she recounted.
‘Just for context, she might have been having a party – I don’t know if she was gonna eat it or who the food was for – but she was loading on all this junk food right; white bread, crisps, Pot Noodle all that kind of stuff.’
The influencer said that on top of that, her basket was filled with a ‘whole lot of medicine’.
‘I could not believe it,’ she said. ‘Anyways it was so paradoxical for me.
‘Again, no judgement, and I don’t know her personal situation, but it really spoke to me about how we don’t pay attention to what we’re putting in our bodies enough and then we numb it with drugs so we can’t feel what’s going on inside.’
She added: ‘Now I’m no nutritionist or functional health practitioner, but you ingest cr*p, you feel cr*p.
TikToker Flo, pictured, stitched the clip with her own take, slamming Olympia’s ‘judgemental’ tone
She explained that if the social media star really was frustrated, she could be setting up fundraisers or donating healthier meals to food banks
Olympia said you also get ‘all sorts of illnesses’, ‘symptoms’ and ‘disease’ which ‘arise as a result of not looking after your body properly’.
However, while she turned off the comments on the viral video, TikTokers have still found ways to show their frustration.
One fellow influencer had called her out for being ‘unashamedly out of touch’.
Another stitched the clip with her own take, slamming Olympia’s ‘judgemental’ tone – while she ‘sits in her open planned house…that cost her millions of pounds, judging a woman for feeding her family’.
‘There are other people going to sleep, literally having to choose between feeding themselves or heating themselves,’ the user, Flo (@florahsrecovery) said.
‘And the thing is I don’t wrong anyone that is rich enough…to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Many praised Flo’s speech, agreeing that the issue ghosted over the cost of living crisis in the UK
‘You do you, you became successful, good on f***ing you and I hope you make a difference in the world.
‘My issue is people who are of a certain demographic judging other people on other demographics.’
She explained that if the social media star really was frustrated, she could be setting up fundraisers or donating healthier meals to food banks.
‘Supernoodles last a long f***ing time, you can get them for 70p,’ Flo continued. ‘Same for crisps and snacks and “junkfood”.’
She also blasted Olympia’s attitude throughout the clip.
‘What makes this video worse is that she has said on multiple occasions that she wasn’t judging… whilst being judging…and then tried to put the onus on “big pharma”.’
Flo said that the issue has nothing to do with pharmaceuticals, but more so the UK’s food poverty.
‘If you wanna blame someone, blame the ‘right f***ing people,’ she said.
‘Which is the Government…you’re the type to still vote for Tories in the General Election.’
Many praised Flo’s speech, agreeing that the issue ghosted over the cost of living crisis – which health chiefs just last month warned is fuelling a ‘second health emergency’ in three years after the Covid-19 pandemic pushed desperate families to the brink.
‘Yessssss! Say it louder,’ one comment praised. ‘Lower income families are so judged, considering we have to pick which bill we are not paying so we can afford an Aldi shop!’
Another simply said: ‘People are poor.’
Elsewhere a third added: ‘It’s all rooted in classism and I’m sick of rich people pretending they care about people’s health because they DON’T. It’s an excuse to be horrible.’
Some even shared their own struggles.
‘My food shop has gone up by £65 a week in the last 3 months, because food has gone insane, I’m trying to give my kids the best food they can have on.’
Meanwhile others were confused by the link to medicines and sachets.
‘What killed me is her talking about the “drugs” the lady was buying in the supermarket,’ one shared. ‘What, paracetamol and ibuprofen??’
