A manhunt is underway after a man allegedly stabbed an off-duty Queensland police officer in the chest.
Police say the 27-year-old male officer was questioning a man who was found trespassing on a property in Deception Bay, north of Brisbane, about 10.35pm on Saturday.
When the officer tried to arrest the man, he was stabbed in the chest a number of times.

Detectives are investigating the stabbing at the Deception Bay home in Brisbane’s north
His alleged attacker fled in a silver Hyundai hatchback with two other men.
All three are described as being in their late teens or early twenties.
The officer is in a serious but stable condition at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
