A man with a passion for food has shared the ‘pinch me’ moment his new range of tasty desserts became an instant hit at Woolworths a day after launching in stores.

Nick Vavitis, from Melbourne who boasts a strong Instagram following of more than 100,000, was completely shocked by the unexpected success.

The 29-year-old was ‘jobless’ during the Brisbane Covid lockdown two years ago and started working on his brand Choclt before moving back to his home city.

Nick told FEMAIL finally being able to launch his brand into one of Australia’s biggest supermarkets means ‘everything’ to him.

‘I get so much joy and happiness out of seeing people try my products and I always dreamt of launching in Woolworths,’ he said.

The new range currently includes a $12 red velvet brownie and a cookies and cream overload brownie as well as a $20 caramel biscuit cheesecake cookie pie.

Nick said the three new desserts were inspired by some of his personal favourite flavours and treats.

Foodies have been raging about the ‘delicious’ treats on social media over the last few days, which Nick describing this reaction as ‘unbelievable’.

‘It feels like a real pinch me moment,’ he said.

‘I’ve been watching the [social media] tags come through and it’s filled me with so much happiness and joy seeing people enjoying my desserts.

‘It’s quite surreal to think I went from handing out desserts to my friends to try to now in Woolies in two years.’

Nick carefully chose what he wanted to create and felt like there was a lack of red velvet desserts in Australia, so he created his own.

He opted for a cookies and cream brownie as this is one of his ‘all-time favourite’ flavours, while the cheesecake pie contains a ‘unique twist’ incorporating the taste of caramel and cookie texture.

Others have urged customers to ‘not walk but run’ into Woolies to try the desserts, with some reporting shelves at certain stores have completely cleared.

Nick responded accordingly on Instagram by sharing his excitement.

‘WOWWWWWW THANK YOU SO MUCH EMPTY SHELVES AFTER ONE DAY,’ he wrote on Friday.

‘I’m doing my best to get back to everyone but I’d just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who went out today and purchased a brownie or cookie pie today.

‘The love for this brand is UNBELIEVABLE!! I’m so excited to hear everyone’s reviews and thoughts again I love you all so much and thank you!!’

A number of foodies have also boasted about the desserts on TikTok, with Sydney vlogger Samantha dubbing the treats as ‘the best’.

‘These are honestly a 10 out of 10,’ she said in a clip.

The desserts are available across 990 Woolworths stores nationally.
