Simone Biles wore a $120 dress and Amazon shoes during courthouse wedding to Jonathan Owens

Simone Biles kept it simple for her courthouse wedding to Jonathan Owens, opting for a $120 dress from a small online boutique and a pair of shoes from Amazon.

The gymnast, 26, and the football star, 27, officially became husband and wife on Saturday, exchanging their vows during an intimate ceremony held at a Texas courthouse while surrounded by their close friends and family.

The Olympic gold medalist donned a stunning, white ruffled gown for the wedding – and she revealed via Instagram afterwards that she picked out her ensemble just days before and ordered it online rather than going to see it in person.

While answering questions about the nuptials on her Stories on Sunday, Simone explained that she purchased the outfit from an online clothing company called Selfie Leslie last week.

The tiered, white midi dress boasted a plunging neckline, a criss-cross back, and a tiered frill bodice.

As for her shoes, she said she got them from Amazon – but admitted they were ‘not comfy at all.’

‘I have stubby toddler feet,’ she joked. ‘So I changed into [another pair] for the pics. They were from Pretty Little thing – wide fit.’

The strappy tie-up heels that she switched into cost $58 – but are currently on sale for $35 on Pretty Little Thing’s website.

‘Everything was ordered this week… Dress, wedding bands, shoes, bouquet,’ Simone continued. ‘Not quite prepared for the courthouse ceremony as I am for the big wedding.’

In a separate post, the athlete explained on Instagram that she and the Houston Texans player are still planning to celebrate their love with a lavish destination wedding that will be attended by 140 guests ‘in a couple weeks.’

‘We had to get married “legally” in the US – since our wedding will be a destination wedding,’ she wrote, but unfortunately, she did not share where the second celebration will take place.

She did, however, reveal that she will be wearing four different looks for the upcoming wedding.

‘Kind of dramatic but you only have a wedding once,’ Simone, who previously announced that two of the dresses were designed by Galia Lahav, explained.

One fan wrote on Twitter following the backlash: ‘Simone Biles is one of THE top gymnasts we’ve ever seen, has overcame situations of abuse and other obstacles in her childhood, has defined her own success and found love and is now happily married… And y’all worried about her hair?’

‘I think they also forget I live in Houston, Texas, and I sweat those out, soon as we stepped outside for pics,’ Simone replied. ‘But they can keep complaining, I don’t care.’

The bride completed her look with circular hanging earrings, a coordinating pendant necklace, and a sparking silver bracelet.

Following the ceremony, both Simone and Jonathan gushed over one another on social media.

‘I do,’ Simone wrote, alongside a series of photos from the wedding. ‘Officially Owens.’

‘I never knew a love so deep,’ she added in a second carousel of images, while Jonathan captioned his post, ‘My person, forever.’
