A new feature at McDonald’s drive-thru has left customers shocked, with many claiming it exposes their eating habits.
The fast food chain has introduced a personal greeting on digital screens, so customers that order through the My Maccas app will see their name appear on the screen when they pick up their food.
While it was first introduced in December, it’s recently been spotted by fans – with many left confused with the individualised greeting.
Influencer Jasmine Hand recently discovered the update, which left her baffled.
‘Can someone tell me when this became a thing at Macca’s because I feel like I’ve been exposed,’ she said in a video.

Taking to TikTok, the Gold Coast-based social media star added she felt ‘exposed’
A clip, filmed from inside her car, showed a screen reading ‘Great to see you Jaz’.
‘Why does it say my name dude?’ she asks.
Her clip quickly racked up more than 700,00 views with some saying they were ‘freaked out’ while others said they ‘loved the personal touch’.
‘I ordered a coffee through drive thru and it came up and I freaked out,’ wrote one.
‘Well my name on the app is quandale dingle and I don’t know how to change it,’ joked another.

‘You should change the name on your app to: beautiful, so at Maccas it will say “great to see you beautiful” then Maccas gives you a compliment,’ added a third.
‘I’m going to stop going to Maccas if I’m going to get called out like that,’ commented another.
‘This happened to me the other day and I nearly died,’ wrote one.
‘Mine keeps coming up with random names,’ said another.
Others commented they felt ‘special’ while many said it was ’embarrassing’.
Those who aren’t fans of the feature are able to switch it off in the app.
‘We know not all customers will appreciate the personalised greeting so we’ve made it a feature that MyMacca’s customers can opt out of by going to their settings in the app,’ a spokesperson for the fast-food giant told news.com.au.
