Furious shopper slams Woolworths over ‘ridiculous’ change to aisles: ‘It makes it impossible to shop’
- A Woolworths store repositioned their aisles to create more space
- The result saw customers faced with a large ‘inconvenience’
A Woolworths shopper has unleashed her fury after spotting a ‘ridiculous’ and ‘inconvenient’ detail at the supermarket.
The woman expressed her frustration after her closest store rearranged its aisles to create more space.
The change caused the area’s large pillars to be positioned in the middle of the walkways.
Previously, the store’s layout saw the pylons placed in line with the large aisle shelves which caused minimal disruptions to shoppers.
‘You need to look at what your stores are doing, Woolworths,’ Theresa, from Western Australia, said.

‘This is the ridiculous new layout – a lot of the aisles at my local.’
The new layout also makes it difficult for multiple shoppers with trolleys to access aisles at the same time.
Woolworths has ensured customers that the change is temporary and due to urgent repairs.
‘Our Woolworths Baldivis store is a little floored at the moment as it undergoes a renewal,’ a spokesperson told FEMAIL.
‘Some of the pillars have been temporarily moved as the floor gets replaced.
‘We know this store is a pillar of the local community and we thank customers for their consideration in the coming weeks.’

Many were upset by the change and demanded a better solution.
‘A little of an [occupational health and safety risk] one would think,’ a woman said.
She added: ‘Almost no signage except for one portable caution stand, and nothing large or at head height as a warning visible to all.’
Another asked: ‘How are you supposed to get the trolley down there?’
But others were more sympathetic to the supermarket’s plight.
‘Something does need to hold the roof up,’ a customer pointed out.
‘The pillars are important – many of them have fire extinguishers hooked on,’ added another woman.
