Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’s awkward discussion about BUTT IMPLANTS on Live

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos had an awkward discussion about butt implants during today’s episode of Live With Kelly and Mark – as the actor grilled his wife about getting work done.

Mark, 52, took over as co-host on the morning show alongside Kelly, also 52, following Ryan Seacrest’s departure earlier this month.

But things turned a little tense on the show when they brought up the subject of plastic surgery.

While discussing a recent article that said butt lift reversals were becoming very popular, Mark decided to ask his spouse of 27 years if she would ever consider getting implants in her rear.

‘Would you do something like that? Would you do the big butt thing?’ he asked.

Taken aback by the question, Kelly turned to her husband and said, ‘You tell me,’ to which he nervously responded, ‘I don’t know.’

‘I feel like there’s so many other places I’d rather put implants in if I had the time and energy,’ Kelly added.

But when Mark said he ‘agreed’ with her – many people in the audience took the statement as him admitting that he wanted his wife to go under the knife.

A sudden ‘ooh’ came from the live audience – but the father-of-three insisted that wasn’t what he meant.

‘I mean, I don’t agree that you should do that,’ he quickly told his wife, before addressing the audience, ‘Stop it, I did not say anything… I just agreed because she’s my wife.’

Thankfully, Kelly made it clear that she wasn’t upset with Mark and knew exactly what he meant, adding, ‘Right, you agree with me no matter what.’

In the past, Kelly has been open about the fact that she uses Botox, telling Elle in 2013 that she gets injections on her face and her armpits – to avoid sweating on camera.

‘Every seven months or so my eyelid skin rests on my eyelashes. So I feel like it makes my makeup artist’s life easier,’ she said at the time.

‘It makes my eyes look a little more open on TV, which is where I happen to work right now.’

While speaking to People in 2022 about it, she explained that she hoped being ‘open and honest’ about the cosmetic enhancements would help others who were struggling with aging.

‘I’ve always talked about it open and honestly because I thought, really honestly, at 40 years old that I was the only person aging and I couldn’t figure out why,’ she explained.

‘I kept saying, I need to quit my job because it’s too early in the morning, it’s too much reading, it’s too much work, it’s a lot of anxiety, and it’s too much makeup – and it’s weighing on me and I’m just looking older than everyone else.’

Others have slammed the pair for discussing ‘mundane things’ rather than ‘real social and news issues’ – with some even calling for the series to be canceled after branding it as a ‘big fail’ and ‘painful’ to watch.
