Prince Oscar of Sweden stole the show during a balcony appearance today as the royals gathered to celebrate the King’s birthday.
The Prince, seven, took a leaf out of the UK’s Prince Louis’s book as he looked restless during a public appearance on the balcony at the courtyard of the Royal Palace in Stockholm as King Carl XVI Gustaf turned 77.
The royal appeared with his mother Crown Princess Victoria, 45, father Prince Daniel, 49, and sister Princess Estelle, 11. He was also joined by Queen Silvia, Princess Sofia and Prince Gabriel.
Oscar, who turned seven at the beginning of March, was pictured taking shelter in his mother’s blue coat as the family waved to royal fans.
As he stood towards the front of the balcony, he put his head in his hands and began brushing his hair away from his face with a look of anguish in antics that were reminiscent of Prince Louis’s cheeky balcony appearance to mark the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee last June.

Another photo showed Oscar, Duke of Skåne, looking particularly glum as the sun shone in his eyes and the wind whipped his hair.
Meanwhile, the other royals present on the balcony beamed and waved at the crowds to mark the occasion.
In one snap that particularly harked back to five-year-old Prince Louis’s funny balcony appearance at the Queen’s Jubilee, Crown Princess Victoria leaned down to kiss her restless son on the head.
The mother-of-four’s attempt to settle her child was much like the Princess of Wales’s gentle whisper to Prince Louis during the Red Arrows flypast last June.

Last month the Swedish royal family released angelic photos of Prince Oscar to mark his seventh birthday, which were taken at the family’s home of Haga Palace in Haga Park, Solna.
In the first of the two images, Oscar, who has his hair perfectly combed in place, beams as he cuddles he family’s Cavapoo, Rio while sitting on a cream sofa.
In the second photograph, Oscar is joined by his sister Princess Estelle, 11. The pair were captured sitting back-to-back on a staircase as they grinned at the camera.
Oscar opted for grey jeans and a brown cardigan with black shoes. His sister looked equally smart in a white top and a houndstooth skirt.
Elsewhere the Swedish royals, including Queen Silvia, Princess Estelle and Princess Sofia, looked stylish, if a little windswept, as they appeared on the balcony
Prince Carl Philip missed out on the balcony appearance and instead appeared in a procession dressed in military gear
The pictures were posted with the caption: ‘Prince Oscar turns seven today. Congratulations!’ when translated from Swedish to English.
The two images appeared to be from the same photoshoot shared on Princess Estelle’s birthday last month.
Royal fans rushed to comment on the images, with one person writing: ‘Charming and lovely Prince Oscar who turns 7 today!! Happy birthday to you!’
Another said: ‘Sweden’s cutest!!!! Big congratulations to the prince,’ while a third added: ‘Big congratulations to you our little prince.’
Prince Osckar was born at the Karolinska University Hospital in the Swedish capital of Stockholm at 8.28pm on 2 March 2016.
