Psychologist reveals she’s happily living in a throuple – after a female work colleague fell in love with both her AND her wife
A clinical psychologist who has been living in a throuple – with her wife and another woman – for nearly two years says she’s surprised by the positive support their relationship has received.
Dr Nicole LePera, a clinical psychologist from Philadelphia, told broadcaster Annie Macmanus about the moment her co-worker, Jenna Weakland, confessed that she had feelings for both LePera and her wife Lolly.
Appearing on the DJ’s Changes podcast, in which she also discussed how her self-healing circle – based on holistic psychology – has won her 6.6million Instagram fans, she said she was ‘terrified’ when Weakland first admitted her feelings in 2021.
She said her now partner was shaking during the conversation: ‘Jenna sat us both down, at separate times, and said she was having romantic feelings for both of us.’

None of the women had been in a non-monogamous relationship before and LaPera had been with her wife for around seven years previously.
She told Macmanus polyamory hadn’t crossed her mind before, saying: ‘Never once had we talked about it, never once had I even really heard much about, you know, a more plural, or multiple type relationship.’
This week, Weakland shared a photo of herself and Lolly in London, advocating how positive their relationship is, telling her Instagram followers: ‘There are so many perks to having a life partnership with more than one human.
‘More than a throuple, we are a family, best friends— a team. I love building life with you angels.’
Dr LaPera told the podcast that she had never considered a polyamorous relationship before meeting Jenna Weakland, having been in a monogamous marriage with her wife prior to 2021
The holistic psychologist has 6.6million fans on Instagram thanks to her work in helping people heal from trauma
In August 2022, LaPera officially revealed her relationship status had changed, sharing a photo of herself and her two partners on Instagram, saying: ‘I am in a throuple. A three-person committed relationship.’
She has continued to educate on how her new relationship has changed her, saying: ‘It’s expanded me spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. It’s been raw. Terrifying.
LePera continued: ‘Filled with joy. Filled with tears. Filled with laughs. Filled with so much humbling learning about myself and what it is to be in authentic relationship.’
The psychologist has been married once previously – describing it to her fans as a ‘whirlwind’ and saying she was ‘wrapped in co-dependency conditioning’ and the relationship faltered.
Her work on healing one’s inner self and understanding why emotional intimacy is important has seen her amass a huge global following.
