- A courier has been caught on camera twice throwing fragile parcels over a fence
- The packages contained breakables – clearly marked ‘Fragile’ and ‘This Way Up’
- A full investigation is now underway into the careless behaviour of the courier
- Incident comes days after Australian Post worker was slammed for carelessness
A courier has been filmed literally throwing parcels marked ‘Fragile’ and ‘This Way Up’ into the front yard of an Adelaide home on Tuesday afternoon.
Security cameras caught the delivery man tossing a box over the gate and onto Josie Grummel’s Kudla property twice in the space of ten days.
‘It clearly says it was fragile, and this way up, which it wasn’t,’ Ms Grummel told 7NEWS.

The security camera on Josie Grummel’s Kudla property caught the courier’s actions on video
‘There’s facilities out there to put them, or he could have put them neatly over the fence,’ she fumed. ‘There’s no need to throw them.’
Ms Grummel explained that inside the parcels were delicate air diffusers for her to give her family as Christmas gifts.
Luckily, the gifts were well-wrapped and tightly packed, so they weren’t damaged, but an investigation is still underway into the behaviour of the courier.
But thousands of other Australians haven’t been so lucky, complaining that their goods are often arriving smashed and broken.
This footage emerges just days after Australia Post announced that it would be investigating a delivery man who was caught on video chucking parcels into a van without looking.
‘This is what we pay Australia Post for!’ fumed Glenn Burr, who posted the video shot outside Arena post office to his Facebook page.
‘Not a care in the world with our packages just throw them in and don’t even look where they land… I hope your packages arrive safety [but they won’t] through Australia Post care.’

Industry experts say you should buy from a retailer with a good track record with valuables
Industry experts say that the careless handling of packages is ‘widespread’, but warn people not to blame the courier.
‘Your starting point is the retailer, that is who your contact is with,’ said consumer affairs expert Dini Soulio. ‘The retailer can then take it up with their delivery company.’
Mr Souli also advises doing research about who you’re buying from and checking for negative reviews and customer feedback before finalising your online shopping.
