The Princess of Wales looked radiant in a recycled pink dress as she surprised gardeners at the Chelsea Flower Show this afternoon.
Kate, 41, wore a silk ME+EM frock, which her mother Carole has also worn previously, as she turned up unannounced at the event, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society.
She paired the dress with her Castaner Carina Espadrille wedges, which she has worn on several public engagements in warmer temperatures. Meanwhile her thick brunette locks were hanging down her shoulders.
The mother-of-three demonstrated her natural flair with children as she joined school pupils at the event’s first ever Children’s Picnic.
Kate met youngsters from 10 schools taking part in the RHS Campaign for School Gardening as they sat down to eat, before visiting three of this year’s Show Gardens with them.

On her first visit to the world-famous horticultural show since 2019, the future queen and the children took part in a bug hunt, helped to plan a home-grown meal and discovered how gardens can support wellbeing – something the Princess has been highlighting for several years.
The Princess is known to enjoy the Chelsea Flower Show, an event she has attended several times in the past.
In 2019, Kate even designed her own garden to be featured in the showcase, the Back To Nature Garden.
The garden, which Kate hoped would inspire families ‘to get outside’ and ‘enjoy nature’, featured a tree house, waterfall, rustic den and a campfire as well as tree stumps, stepping stones and a hollow log for children to play on.
She worked with co-designers and landscape architects Andree Davies and Adam White to recreate memories from her own childhood by including the likes of bluebells in the space.

Today Kate took part in the Chelsea Flower Show’s first ever Children’s Picnic, and she looked thrilled to be involved
Touchingly, Kate also made sure Diana was part of the garden, including the late princess’s favourite forget-me-nots in the design.
The royal mother-of-three also ensured her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis felt part of the project by asking them to help gather material from the grounds of Anmer Hall, their Norfolk home, to use in the space.
The children dutifully collected twigs, moss and logs that were taken down to London. They also built a rustic tepee-style den and fire pit at the heart of the garden.
The Princess was reported to have been very hands-on in the creation of the garden, and has been on site almost every day in the five days leading up to the opening.
After it opened, Kate also visited the garden and explored with school pupils, helping them make little boats from reeds to race down the stream like Pooh sticks.
