TikTok star Alix Earle reveals she was stranded in Italy after falling prey to scammers

TikTok star Alix Earle has revealed she and her friends were left stranded in Italy after falling prey to scammers by booking a villa that does not exist.

The 22-year-old, who embarked on the trip alongside 10 others, has been documenting the saga on the video sharing platform.

She revealed that there were a whole host of mishaps before the group then discovered that the ‘scenic villa’ they had booked in Positano was fake.

The trip is a continuation of Alix’s festivities to celebrate graduating from the University of Miami earlier this month.

In her initial clip, which has been viewed more than 4.7 million times, Alix candidly revealed the predicament the group were in as they wheeled their suitcases out of the airport.

She revealed: ‘We’re stranded in Italy. The house we were supposed to stay at doesn’t exist. Our car service canceled. It’s midnight.

‘We literally don’t know where to go. 11 girls stranded in Positano. The girls’ trip took a turn.’

The social media star, who has more than 5.3 million followers on TikTok, has since elaborated further on the situation.

She said: ‘Here’s how we got stranded in Italy on our girls’ trip.

‘We were leaving our AirBnB in Ibiza. We had to chuck our suitcases down the stairs – they were so heavy.

‘We got our hot, sexy drivers. We had time to kill before the airport so we went to go get lunch…

‘So now we head to the airport to go to our villa in Positano. It was like 800 degrees. We were on the last row of the flight.’

Alix, who did not specify how much the group had paid for the villa, has yet to reveal how the issue got resolved but has still found time to share a slew of snaps from the sun-soaked destination

Alix continued: ‘We landed in Naples and realized that our house was a scam.

‘It literally didn’t exist and our car service canceled on us. The our dumb a**es walked out of the airport without our luggage.

‘Security was like “you can literally not come back in.” We somehow got our bags, we got in a random taxi, we booked a random hotel room for the night.

‘The view was pretty though. At two in the morning we have nowhere to stay for the rest of the trip so we were a little stressed out.’
