Inventive tourist uses VERY sneaky hack to dodge Ryanair luggage prices

A pair of German tourists travelling around Europe have revealed a creative way to wriggle out of Ryanair’s often expensive luggage charges – and enjoy a comfy flight in the process.

TikTokers Madeleine and Sophia, who post as @roadbunnies and describe themselves as ‘Just 2 girls, doing roadtrips with a red Skoda Fabia’, shared a clip on the social media site of them using a pillowcase as a makeshift suitcase.

The Irish airline charges for cabin luggage that’s bigger than a small bag, meaning the low-cost airlines ‘cheap fares’ can soon add up.

The TikTok clip, which has now had nearly 8.8 million viewers, shows one of the roadbunnies carrying a comfy-looking pillowcase at the airport.

However, by the end of the clip – which has the words ‘No-body’s gonna know’ and ‘They’re gonna know’ playing in the background – the traveller reveals that she’s actually stuffed clothes in the pillowcase.

In a hotel room, she’s filmed pulling her stash of clothes from the pillowcase.

A caption ‘When you booked flights with Ryanair’ runs over the video…and the @roadbunnies added in a ‘thank us later’ and a fire emoji.

A nervous @roadbunnies then asked: ‘Are we still friends?’

However, Ryanair’s TikTok team apparently spotted the hack and posted a cryptic: ‘Bestie PLEASEEEE what is this?’

Others shared their hacks, with one saying she stashes her luggage in a Duty Free bag because in-airport purchases are never questioned by staff.

Budget travellers have long been inventive when trying to swerve luggage charges, including wearing multiple layers to get on board without carrying an extra bag.
