I’m an ex-inmate – here’s how criminals smuggle drugs and phones into jail

An ex-inmate has revealed how criminals sneak drugs and phones into  jail – detailing the moment a fellow prisoner died after swallowing synthetic marijuana, also known as K2.

The Florida convict, who hasn’t revealed his real name but goes by his nickname, Viking, has gained more than 569,000 followers on TikTok after sharing his insights into what the prison system is like.

Viking previously made headlines after making a viral video detailing what happens to different types of criminals in prison.

He spent three years in juvenile detention and six years in prison for burglary of a dwelling, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and three counts of possessing a controlled substance without prescription.

But Viking has since turned his life around and is sharing the truth about his life behind bars. Recently, he detailed the extreme lengths he saw fellow inmates take to get drugs or phones using people on the outside or ‘crooked guards.’

In the video, which had more than 175,000 views, the convict revealed he ‘didn’t see hard drugs until he got into the prison system.’

He explained that in one instance, a cellmate’s girlfriend would bring in K2 during her visit and ‘have it put up inside of her,’ and would sneak it out in the bathroom.

She would then put the drugs stuffed in balloons into a Skittles packet that was acquired by the cellmate.

‘It would look like he’s eating candy, but he’s actually swallowing balloons. This motherf***er, I guess they didn’t roll the balloon right… and ended up opening half [an] ounce of K2 in his stomach,’ Viking recalled.

‘The dude ended up having seizures and ended up dying.’

When it came to phones, he revealed that many times, the officers were the ones providing the prisoners with cellphones in exchange for money.

‘You also have to remember that the prison industrial complex is the biggest money- earning machine for some of these towns,’ Viking said.

‘So, imagine growing up in a town where you either are a cop, military or work in the prison.’

He then said that the same phone that would cost you $200 on ‘the outside,’ would be ‘$1,000 or $2,000 on the inside.’

‘So if you think these crooked guards that are beating the s*** out of inmates, killing inmates, well you don’t think they want another $100,000 of tax-free money.

‘The guards are bringing in bottles of vodka, and I’m talking about in water bottles, I’ve seen it all.’

The convict also noted that getting items through the officers is ‘the second biggest way’ to get something on the inside.

‘Then, you got that prison wallet. So, some guys have low enough custody to where they can go outside the gate, or there are drops,’ he explained.

He added that people often go through ‘prison Louis Vuitton,’ which sees inmates receiving items through officers.

‘Say an officer would say, “Hey I’m going to accidentally drop something here, have one of your mules go and get it.” They call that prison Louis Vuitton, I know it’s nasty but I have seen guys put six or seven cell phones up their booty.’

At the end of his video, he explained that Florida prisons were all about ‘money and power.’
