Believe it or not, there are a number of snakes in this picture – but only the most eagle-eyed among us will be able to spot every one.
Snakes are exceptional at camouflaging themselves, so you’ll need to really focus your eyes for a few seconds to work out exactly where they all are.
The image has gone viral on Reddit, with site users sying that thanks to their ‘poor eyesight’ they would fail to spot the copperhead snakes ‘before its too late.’
So can you spot all the snakes in this photo?
Social media users on Reddit were left shocked by the fact that it took them a while to spot the four reptiles. How long will it take you?
The image was shared by Redditor @alanboston, and has received over 50,000 upvotes and over 1,500 comments.
He captioned the image: ‘Those are copperhead snakes; if you’re hiking and come up on a nest, stop and backup.’
Once your eyes adjust to the background, you’ll track down these creatures in no time.
And while you’re thinking it’s impossible to find them, it’s important you use the time you have to scan the tree and the surrounding area wisely.
Don’t focus on one spot or area too much, as we all know predators such as snakes like to spread out to catch their prey.
Copperhead snakes are poisonous, but deaths from one of their bites are very rare.
And these copperhead snakes are no different. They feed on baby cottontails, swamp rabbits, rats, mice, birds, snakes, lizards, baby turtles, frogs, toads, and insects, especially grasshoppers and cicadas.
If you’re stuck, we’ll give you a few hints.
These large snakes, found through the southern and eastern United States, have bodies that range from tan to copper to gray, with characteristic hourglass-shaped stripes.
The first snake is fairly easy to spot, located in one of the corners of the photo.
While the other three are certainly more concealed, knowing what one looks like will help you find the rest.
But if the 10 seconds are now up and you’ve not found any or just a few, we’ll put you out of your misery.
The easiest snake can be found in the bottom right hand corner of the image, slithering over a leaf.
Three of the others are a lot harder to spot, but once we reveal where they are, you’ll be shaking your head.
One is making its way up the tree trunk, and can be spotted slap bang in the middle of it.
Another can be found between the neck and base of the tree, again in the middle.
While the third can be spotted at the very bottom of the of the tree, towards the end of the image.

And social media users on Reddit were left shocked by the fact that it took them a while to spot the four reptiles.
One person wrote: ‘Wow my poor eyesight would never see those before it’s too late lol.’
And another Redditor added: ‘Or maybe you could just tell us where you’re at, and we’ll just never come there?’
While a third commented: ‘Copperhead snakes are the king/queens of camouflage. I’ve grown up in Georgia and I’m still surprised by one or two every year. Some look like a new penny and some perfectly look like the leaves around them.’
One more put: ‘Their camouflage is scary good, I hate snakes why am I here ahhh.’
Another jokingly said: ‘Another reason not to go outside, thanks!’
Copperhead snakes are some of the more commonly seen North American snakes. They’re also the most likely to bite, although their venom is relatively mild.
And their bites are rarely fatal for humans.
