Emma Stone smokes a cigarette as she hunts for a lost dog

She was named the best-paid actress in Hollywood on Forbes’ annual list earlier this year.

And Emma Stone was earning her keep as she filmed her upcoming Netflix series Maniac in Brooklyn, New York, on Thursday.

The Oscar-winner, 29, was in character, smoking a cigarette, hunting for a lost dog and finding what looked like a parking ticket on a weathered Ford pick-up truck.

The La La Land star was decked out in a costume frequently seen on her character, including pinstriped trousers and a mustard-colored overcoat.

Emma wore walnut brown leather boots and accessorized with a wide-buckled belt round her waist as she marched around the set.

The actress completed the look with a simple grey shirt and circular sunglasses for another busy day of filming.

Emma cradled a bulging brown paper bag, the contents of which included a tube of Pringles chips.

Emma was gripping a lost dog poster in her right hand as she strolled down the sidewalk, with promises for a ‘very generous reward’ in returning for finding the pet pooch, named Groucho.

With a cigarette clamped between her teeth, the star’s character stuck the poster up on a pole.

Emma has been seen in almost the precisely identical outfit a few times while filming the forthcoming Netflix series.

Last month, she modeled the same look whilst filming yet another scene in which she put up a lost dog poster.

Emma was also wearing the same costume during a bizarre scene in which her character played chess with a purple koala puppet in the city’s Washington Square Park.

Maniac, a dark comedy, is created and directed by Cary Fukunaga and is based on a three-year-old Norwegian sitcom of the same name.

The original half-hour series centers on the fantasy life of a hospitalized mental patient called Espen.

Emma and Jonah Hill head up the cast of the new version, alongside a cast including Sally Field and Justin Theroux.

Patrick Somerville is writing the English-language Netflix edition, which is scheduled to be released on a publicly unspecified date in 2018.
