Sam Paino sheds a staggering 67 KILOS in just eight months

A 26-year-old man has revealed how he shed nearly half his body weight after eating 14 serves of salmon a week for eight months.

Sam Paino, from Western Australia, said his weight spiralled out of control when he tipped the scales at a staggering 155 kilograms.

The man – who wore 7XL – decided to turn his life around after he found himself out of breath from jogging 500 metres – and even struggling to get out of his vehicle.

‘One day I was getting out of my van, I couldn’t even get out, my stomach was hitting my steering wheel… It really hit home,’ he told Today Tonight.

Despite working as a fishmonger at his Perth store, the man said he rarely ate his own seafood produce – but eventually, he decided to add salmon to his diet.

‘It’s not a really good image to portray – looking big and selling clean, healthy seafood,’ he said.

‘Was that really me? How did I let myself get to that stage? I thought – I own a fish shop why don’t I try that.’

‘It was simple as that – salmon, veggies, salad and water. I stuck to that for eight months and it was just falling off like you would not believe,’ he said.

‘And I thought ‘right, this is all I’m going to eat’. It was working [for me] and it just kept on working. There would be weeks where I would even lose four kilos.’

Eating up to 14 serves of salmon a week, Mr Paino said he would prepare his meals differently where he’d go from sashimi, smoked salmon to teriyaki.

‘It was hard. I had to mix it up,’ he said.

Following a strict diet of fish, Mr Paino has gone from wearing 7XL to wearing size medium clothing after he dropped eight sizes.

He credits salmon for ‘saving his life’ as he revealed he was keeping his old trousers as an ‘inspiration’ behind his incredible weight loss.

‘[Salmon gave me a] new lease on life, I’m playing forward basketball and football again,’ he said.
