Money may not buy happiness, but it sure will buy some pretty extravagant holiday presents that are on offer this year.
Luxury shopping site Net-a-Porter has just released its 2017 gift guide, which includes three very pricey — and, naturally, very chic — gifts.
Generous gift-givers with a few tens of thousands of dollars to spare can get their loved ones a year-long designer bag or shoe subscription. Or, if they’re feeling particularly magnanimous, a whole new wardrobe.
Happy, happy holidays: Net-a-Porter has released its 2017 Fantasy Gifts, which include a $90,000 new wardrobe and professional styling
Bag it up: For $54,256 there is also a Handbag of the Month subscription
Put your money where your feet are: A Shoe of the Week subscription is also available for $41,177
For $90,000, Net-a-Porter is selling The It Girl Wardrobe, but only to three lucky, wealthy customers.
The giftee will be granted access to Fashion Director Lisa Aiken, who will personally curate a new dream closet with the help of a Net-a-Porter stylist. Also included in the price is business class travel to meet Lisa and the stylist, and a one-night stay in a five-star hotel.
For those who don’t need a whole new wardrobe but are happy to splurge on lots of accessories, the site is selling Handbag of the Month and Shoe of the Week subscriptions.
The bag subscription costs $54,256 and includes one new purse every month for a year. The customer gets to choose their bags — with the help of a stylist — and needs only to keep within the annual spending limit.
The shoe subscription is only $41,177, and works the same way — except the customer gets a new pair of shoe every week for 52 weeks.
Steep: The rest of the gift guide is packed with pricey pieces, like luxe watches (left: IWC Schaffhausen, $37,900, netaporter.com; right: IWC Schaffhausen, $28,700, netaporter.com)
Brining the bling! Buccellati, $24,500, netaporter.com
Fancy! Left: Chopard, $15,160, netaporter.com; right: Repossi, $20,650, netaporter.com
Ooh-la-la: Mark Cross, $17,500, netaporter.com
Box it up! Dolce & Gabbana, $13,500, netaporter.com
If the shoe fits… Saint Laurent, $10,000, netaporter.com
While those three gifts are the most expensive ones the site is offering this year, there are also plenty of big-ticket items that are just a single thing, as opposed to a collection or subscription.
The gift guide this year includes two IWC Schaffhausen watches for $37,900 and $28,700 each, a $24,500 Buccellati bracelet, and a $20,650 Repossi ear cuff.
A Mark Cross alligator bag will set shoppers back $17,500, while an understated Chopard necklace costs $15,160.
Other especially pricey gifts include a $13,500 Dolce & Gabbana jewelry box, a pair of $10,000 Swarovski crystal-embellished leather knee boots by Saint Laurent, and $23,495 Amrapali earrings.
For your stocking… Christian Louboutin, $485, netaporter.com
Spend like crazy! Left: Tom Dixon, $190, netaporter.com; right: Alighieri, $225, netaporter.com
But there’ll be nothing to put in it… Saint Laurent, $650, netaporter.com
What an animal: Loewe, $380, netaporter.com
What’s more, the site has a pretty interesting definition of the term ‘Stocking Filler,’ with many of theirs carrying price tags of $150 or more.
It’s a privileged few who can expect to find a $485 Christian Louboutin wallet, a $190 Tom Dixon candle, a $650 Saint Laurent wallet, a $380 Loewe keychain, a $390 Gucci phone case, or a $225 Alighieri hair tie hanging over their mantle.
That isn’t to say everything stocked is priced sky-high: For budget-friendly shoppers, there are several beauty buys for under $20, including nail polish, toothpaste, and a lip loofah.
