French husband accused of ‘drugging his wife and recording at least 51 men raping her’

French husband accused of ‘drugging his wife every night and then recording at least 51 men raping her while she slept for a decade’

  • Investigators have identified 92 cases of rape of Françoise by 83 ‘aggressors’

A French man has been accused of drugging his wife every night and then recording at least 51 men raping her while she slept.

The suspect, known as Dominique P, allegedly carried out the attacks after he mixed the anti-anxiety drug Lorazepam into his wife’s meal, The Telegraph reported.

He would then invite his so-called guests into their home in Mazan, France to carry out sex acts on the sleeping woman, referred to under the pseudonym Françoise.

It is understood that Dominique would record the assaults and keep the footage on a USB drive in a file called ‘ABUSES’.

Fifty-one men – between the ages of 26 and 73 – have been charged with rape and remanded in custody. Investigators have identified 92 cases of rape of Françoise by 83 ‘aggressors’ but have yet to identify all of the alleged assailants.

Dominique, who was married to Françoise for more than 50 years, is understood to have found the men on a depraved internet rape forum, according to the newspaper.

The alleged assaults occurred between 2011 and 2020, with the prosecution claiming that Dominique insists that none of attackers ‘gave up going through with sexual acts on his wife given her state’.

Avignon prosecutors say Dominique ‘never used violence or threats’ to ensure the rapes took place, adding: ‘Each individual was in possession of his free will to stop these acts and leave.’

Some of the rapists are understood to have come to the home multiple times. Many allege they were unaware that Françoise had not consented to the encounters.

Another, altogether denying it was rape, reportedly said: ‘It’s his wife, he does what he likes with her.’

Police learned of the rape videos during a preliminary investigation into Dominique in 2020 after he was suspected of using a hidden camera to film women in changing rooms.

Françoise, who learned of the attacks after police found the tapes, said she suffered gynaecological problems, frequent fatigue and ‘absent-mindedness’.

Medical examinations also revealed she had been infected with four sexually transmitted infections.

She is understood to have battled with depression following the attacks and has since filed for divorce.

Dominique, however, told the investigating magistrates he loves his ‘saint’ wife. His lawyer added that Françoise was ‘his first love, indeed the only love of his life’.
