Coronation Street’s Max Turner is set to face a shock in upcoming scenes as his ex-girlfriend Lauren Bolton returns to Weatherfield.
The teen (played by Paddy Bever) has been attempting to rebuild his life after his release from a Secure Training Centre following his involvement in Alya Nazir’s stabbing at the hands of extremist Blake.
Max had been groomed and manipulated into joining an extremist gang run by leader Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) with Lauren’s dad also a member of the far-right group.
During the disturbing storyline, Max was involved with Lauren (Cait Fitton), but when the gang broke up, Lauren fled to Cornwall to be with her mum where she believed she’d be safer.
And in first look images, Max is set to get an unexpected blast from the past as Lauren suddenly re-enters his life and claims to have fallen out with her mum – but is her return as innocent as it seems?

Lauren, who previously held the same racist views as Max, insisted that she wants nothing to do with her father or his right wing associates, while also claiming she spent the night sleeping rough at the bus station.
Feeling sorry for Lauren he takes her to the café where she makes it clear that she wants to pick things up where they left off.
But it remains to be seen if she has an ulterior motive.
Opening up about his character’s love life to Metro.co.uk, actor Paddy, 20, said: ‘I would like to see him find love with someone who has good intentions for him, with someone who is not going to bring about danger for him.
‘I’d like to see him find love with someone who can weather the storms with him rather than creating them.’
Meanwhile, Max is set to more issues with his current girlfriend Bec, after her ex is released from prison.
Following his own release from jail, things have been looking up for Max as he forms a new romance with Bec.
But in upcoming episodes, as the teen heads to her flat, Gav approaches and explains that he’s been released from the STC and he intends to marry Bec.
