Pete Davidson’s semi-biographical series Bupkis is renewed for a second season on Peacock
Pete Davidson’s semi-autobiographical series Bupkis has been renewed for a second season at Peacock, according to Variety.
The 29-year-old comedian also serves as an executive producer and writer on the series.
Susan Rovner, the chairman of entertainment content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, showered praise on Pete for his, ‘once-in-a-generation talent,’ in the Variety report.
‘What he created with the first season of Bupkis absolutely blew us away,’ Susan added.
Details regarding filming for Bupkis’ second season have yet to be confirmed.

Confirmation of Bupkis’ season two renewal was a quick turnaround for Pete’s comedy series, following the Bupkis season one premiere this past May.
Bupkis begins with a fictional version of Pete himself moving back in with his mom on Staten Island.
However, Pete is shocked to find out that his family has been dealing privately with a personal tragedy without telling him.
As Pete struggles to find some semblance of normalcy with his friends, family, and new life on Staten Island, he questions what he wants to do with the rest of his life as an actor and possibly a father.
Season one of Bupkis featured a slew of A-list guest stars, from Pete’s fellow comedian and SNL co-star Kenan Thompson, Marvel star Sebastian Stan, and former presidential candidate Al Gore.
The Guardians of the Galaxy 3 star’s real-life girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, also plays his girlfriend on the first season of Bupkis.
All eight episodes of Bupkis season one are currently available to stream on Peacock.
Judah Miller, a producer on Pete’s last semi-autobiographical project The King of Staten Island, served as the show-runner for the first season of Bupkis.

Erin Underhill, president of Universal Television, echoed Susan’s statement regarding NBC’s high regard for Bupkis.
‘Pete, Lorne and the entire Bupkis team took audiences on a wild and emotionally captivating adventure in Season 1,’ the Universal Television executive said.
‘From family weddings to drug-fueled road trips to lonely holidays on set, these authentic, outrageous, and emotionally candid escapades gave viewers the good, the bad and the real that comes with stardom,’ Erin added.
She couldn’t wait for what the comedian, writer and producer would cook up for Bupkis season two, saying, ‘We are grateful to Peacock for their support, and can’t wait to once again climb inside the creative mind of Pete Davidson for season two.’
A release date for Bupkis season two has yet to be confirmed.
