Rihanna steps down as CEO of Savage X Fenty after five years of directing the company as the billionaire lingerie mogul announces ‘strong’ successor

It is the end of an era in the executive suite at Savage X Fenty.

Rihanna, 35 – showed off her baby bump at the Cannes Lions festival this week –  founded the brand in 2018 and is stepping down from the role of CEO, which she has held since the beginning of the company.

‘It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years,’ she said in a statement to Vogue.

‘This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer.

‘I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO – she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.’

C-suite changes: It is the end of an era in the executive suite at Savage X Fenty. Rihanna, 35, who founded the brand in 2018, is stepping down from the role of CEO, which she has held since the beginning of the company

The Umbrella singer will remain with the lingerie brand in the role of executive chairman.

Super comes to Savage X Fenty after a tenure as CEO at Anthropologie Group and time spent in leadership positions at Guess, American Eagle, Gap and Old Navy.

‘I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family,’ she said. ‘The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.’

Super is expected to step into the CEO’s office on June 26.

Savage X Fenty has been a trailblazer in size-inclusive fashion. The line doesn’t just offer a wide range of plus sizes, it also uses plus-sized models in its flashy fashion shows.

And that’s been the rule since the beginning. When the brand launched in 2018, it featured bras ranging from a 30A to a 46DDD and XS to 4X in panties.

Rihanna has been looking to expand Savage X Fenty beyond e-commerce and in bringing in Super has leadership with brick and mortar retail experience.

In the past year, the lingerie brand has opened seven stores in the U.S.m including in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston and Atlanta.

And there’s another reason the billionaire founder of Fenty Beauty may have wanted to reduce her duties.

She’s expecting her second child with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, 34,

The couple welcomed son son RZA Athelaston, in May 2022 and the Pon de Replay singer revealed her second pregnancy during the Super Bowl halftime show in February.

The couple will soon have two kids under two years old and that’s more than enough to have on her plate.
