Ree Drummond has learned that even a college football player needs some help from his mom to supply his new apartment.
The Pioneer Woman, 54, went to visit her oldest son Bryce, 20, who is now a football player at Oklahoma State University, after transferring from rival University of North Texas.
Mother and son recorded their entertaining a shopping trip at the local Walmart in Stillwater, which carries a variety of Pioneer Woman items.
Yesterday Bryce (and his mullet) asked me if I had time to drive over to his college town to have dinner with him…oh, and take him shopping for a few apartment essentials, the best-selling author shared on Thursday.
‘Of course, my answer was yes. As long as he didn’t mind visiting a few certain aisles…’

As the pair walked into the store the tight end read off a list things he needed: ‘We need paper towels. We need some Febreze, wall freshener, some dish soap.’
When his mom asked if ‘We need any Pioneer Woman dinnerware,?’ the athlete quickly agreed answering, ‘Yeah, we need some of that, too.’
Bryce settled on some turquoise bowls and a few other things from his mom’s popular line.
‘Do you need a salad bowl?’ she asked. He declined, revealing, ‘We don’t eat much salad.’
The reaction was similar when the pair ventured forth to the produce aisle where she tried to persuade the athlete to choose some ‘grapes, apples, pears’ as Bryce looked with astonishment into the camera as if he were just learning such foods existed.
One fan noticed some Better Homes and Gardens glasses making their way into the shopping cart.
‘What’s with the Better Homes cups? Oh hell no!!’ she wrote.
In exchange for buying him some paper towels, Ree suggested he ‘Cut your mullet off?’

Ree assured her she doesn’t play favorites, writing, ‘“Yes, you’re next!’
