Ruben Loftus-Cheek ‘close to joining AC Milan’ in £13million move from Chelsea

Ruben Loftus-Cheek looks likely to be the next name to leave Stamford Bridge, as negotiations with AC Milan are reportedly at an advanced stage. 

Chelsea are looking to trim their squad following Todd Boehley’s £600million outlay on new recruits last season, and it’s already seen a number of players exit the club. 

N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Kouilbaly have both left for the Saudi Pro League, with Edouard Mendy expected to follow, while there remain on-going talks with Manchester United over the sale of Mason Mount. 

Now midfielder Loftus-Cheek looks to have secured a move to Serie A, with Italian giants Milan. 

According to journalists in Italy at calciomercato.com talks between the player and the Rossoneri are at an advanced stage in a £13million deal for the midfield man.

The academy graduate has made over 200 appearances for the Blues since making his debut in 2014, scoring 16 goals. He also earned international recognition with 10 England caps, and a place in the Three Lions 2018 World Cup squad. 

However,  has also found regular game time hard to come by with recent season-long loan spells with Crystal Palace and Fulham. 

Last season, he did appear 30 times across all competitions for Chelsea, but could be set for a fresh challenge in Serie A with Milan, where he’d join former teammate Fikayo Tomori. 

Stefano Pioli’s men finished 4th last season and can offer Loftus-Cheek Champions League football.
