Kmart urgently recalls popular product over electric shock fears: Stop using it NOW
A popular lamp sold at Kmart across Australia has been recalled over fears it could electrocute those using it.
Marmo Table Lamps with inline switches have been recalled over a defect exposing live wires, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission confirmed.
‘The power cord may detach where it meets the inline switch, exposing live wires,’ ACCC reports.
‘There is a risk of serious injury or death from electric shock or electrocution.
‘Electric shock incidents associated with this defect have occurred.’
Marmo Table Lamps (pictured) sold at Kmart have been recalled. The affected lamps have the key codes 42245209 and 42328384, with batch codes from 33/15 to 51/18
The affected lamps have the key codes 42245209 and 42328384, with batch codes from 33/15 to 51/18, and were sold between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2019.

The power cord may detach where it meets the inline switch, exposing live wires.

What should consumers do?
Consumers should immediately stop using the product, disconnect from mains power and cut the cord safely.
Return to your nearest Kmart or Khub store for a refund or exchange for a new Marmo Table Lamp.
