Hulu drops first trailer for Futurama reboot ahead of its season 11 debut

The future looks bright for Futurama fans.

Hulu dropped the first official trailer for the new season of the Emmy winning comedy Tuesday.

Key characters are returning to the animated comedy for season 11, which will debut July 24.

Never one to spare anyone from mockery, the new trailer for the Matt Groening created series begins with Fry and his pals entering a corporate building with a giant ‘Fulu’ sign, a nod to the series’ new streaming home, Hulu.

‘Welcome to your new home,’ Fry tells his girlfriend Leela.

‘Our new home,’ she replies as she punches a security guard in the stomach.

‘We’re back, baby,’ says robot Bender.

The teaser hints at some of the challenges the characters will be facing.

There’s a virus, Explovid-23, that’s broken out and Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth springs into action.

‘I’ve developed a test to see who’s infected. You jam this Q-tip up your nose,’ he explains in a nod to the Covid-19 swab tests.

‘That looks kind of fun. I can’t wait to do it hundreds of times!’ replies Dr. John A. Zoidberg.

The show launched in 1999, telling the story of Philip J. Fry, a pizza delivery boy in New York City, who accidentally freezes himself and gets defrosted in the year 3000.

Fans were disappointed when the long running series was cancelled in 2013 after more than a decade on the air.
