AC Milan ‘considering move for Wolves star Adama Traore’ and have reportedly contacted Jorge Mendes

AC Milan ‘are considering a move for Wolves star Adama Traore’, who is set to become a free agent this summer… with Serie A giants ‘making contact with Jorge Mendes’ over a move

AC Milan are reportedly testing the waters to see if they could sign Adama Traore, who will soon be a free agent.

The Rossoneri have got in touch Jorge Mendes, Traore’s high-flying agent, to open talks about taking on the Spanish international.

After five years at Wolves, the 27-year-old is leaving due to the expiry of his contract and he is willing to depart England to find a club.

Milan could be his next destination and the move has the approval of manager Stefano Pioli, according to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Julen Lopetegui was hopeful of retaining the winger, but Wolves offered him far less than the £100,000 per week that they offered him over two years ago, leaving him on the same salary he earned when he joined from Middlesbrough in 2018.

His legacy at Molineux will be one that leaves a long-standing impression but perpetual questions of ‘what if?’ and ‘what could have been? shall linger.

In 200 appearances in the gold kit, the explosive runner managed just 14 goals.

An ill-fated loan to Barcelona in 2021/22, where he hardly made any starts, did little to enhance his reputation and the Catalan juggernauts declined the option to sign him permanently at the end of his stay.

A lack of end product is the criticism of choice people deploy against him, but there is no denying that, on his day, Traore could be one of the most untouchable players in the Premier League with his blend of skill, power, and pace.

Two late goals at Manchester City in 2019 to earn Wolves a win stand out in the memory, both coming on the break in a shining example of his potency.

Were he to join Milan, he would share a dressing room with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, whose £18.5million move to the Italian capital was confirmed yesterday.
