Idris Elba looked dapper as he joined his mum, Eve, at the world premiere of his new series Hijack on Wednesday.
The actor, 50, who plays lead character Sam Nelson in the thriller, wore a quirky pale grey jacket with an asymmetric collar for the event at BFI Southbank in London.
He teamed the statement piece with a pair of coordinating trousers and patent dark blue loafers.
Smiling for photos on the red carpet Idris was supported by his mother, who showed off her chic sense of style in a printed two-piece.
She accessorised the floaty trousers and matching top with a velvet scarf and chunky jewellery.

Idris later posed for photos with his co-star Archie Panjabi, who plays security agent Zahar Ghafoor, in the series.
The actress, 51, looked glamorous in a voluminous burgundy gown, complete with a ruffled hem and a pleated cape by Lanvin.
Idris’ fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of his brand new thriller Hijack – after the first preview shots were published earlier this month.
The Luther star is featured in smouldering shots in the series, which he not only starred in, but also executive produced.
Idris appears alongside Emmy Award winner Archie Panjabi, who is also known for The Good Wife, Snowpiercer and Blindspot.
The show will launch on AppleTV+ on June 28.
Fans will be glued to their seats as they watch Idris’s character – entrepreneur Sam Nelson – negotiate with a plane’s hijacker for its passengers’ lives.
Meanwhile, co-star Archie, who plays counter-terrorism officer Zahra Gahfoor, will anxiously await news of the plane’s fate from the ground.

As the action unfolds, only time will tell whether the quick-thinking rescue attempt engineered by Idris will be a master plan or a mistake that leads to his undoing.
The first two episodes will drop on June 28, followed by a new episode every Wednesday until the end of the series.
It’s a milestone moment for Idris, as the series marks the first collaboration between AppleTV+, himself and his production company Green Door Pictures.
Creators George Kay (Lupin) and Jim Field Smith (Truth Seekers) also played a part in the show’s executive production via their firm Idiotlamp Productions.
