With hours to go until the NHL Draft began, Chicago Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson was preparing to make his teams’ selection with the first overall pick.

But earlier in the day, a local Nashville hockey content team – PenaltyBoxRadio – bumped into Davidson.

However, they seemingly didn’t know who the GM was as they continued to ask questions to ‘Kyle from Chicago’.

Davidson was challenged to name as many NHL players as he could – from past or present – in 20 seconds.

He started off by naming some hockey legends like Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux before rattling off role players from Chicago’s teams in the early-2010’s, around the time Davidson joined the Blackhawks.

In addition to Blackhawks legends like Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, Davidson also named players like Dave Bolland, Niklas Hjalmarsson, and Michal Rozsival – all of whom won the Stanley Cup.

Davidson prefaced all this by saying he’d rate his hockey knowledge as simply a four out of ten, adding, ‘Some people say I don’t know much’ about the sport.

He was also asked what he would change in the league – if he could – to which Davidson replied, ‘I think it’s pretty awesome. I don’t really have a specific change. I love the game, love where it’s at, love the love the players that are in the game, and it’s all good to me.’

Finally, Davidson was asked if he thought the league rigged the draft lottery in favor of the Blackhawks so they could get the top overall pick and the rights to Connor Bedard.

Davidson broke the fourth wall – staring straight into the camera and saying, ‘No.’

The NHL Draft takes place Wednesday night at 7:00pm.
