Tori Amos reveals she broke her leg and injured her ankle after a serious fall on tour… but she plans to shoulder on with her tour

Tori Amos’s ongoing tour was almost thrown into disarray only a quarter of the way through when she revealed that she suffered a serious leg injury.

The 59-year-old singer–songwriter shared that she had broken her fibula and also injured her ankle after a fall caused by an unfortunate pair of high heels.

But she clarified to her 173K Instagram followers on Wednesday that she will be continuing the rest of the tour, albeit while wearing a boot.

In her post, Tori shared a photo of her leg and foot with what looked like an ice pack tied to the side of her leg and ankle while she rested it.

She joked in her caption that she had been ‘a ding bell’ and had fallen after getting tangled up in her ‘ever so fashionable high heels tassels that unraveled’ on her most recent tour stop in Charlotte, North Carolina.

‘I went to the good sports Doctors of New York yesterday and they have informed me that I have a broken fibula and a torn ankle tendon,’ she announced, though it wasn’t all bad news.

‘I now have a lovely boot which I am wearing during the day, but no fear I will be at the piano as usual for the rest of the tour. I may just be moving a little slower to and from the Bose and will probably need those silver foxes to lend a hand…’ she continued.

‘Can’t wait to see you all tonight and the rest of the tour,’ Amos concluded to her fans.

The Cornflake Girl singer also shared a second photo of herself at an electric piano while rehearsing for Wednesday’s show in New York City.

She wore a long-sleeve black dress, which matched the orthopedic boot that reached nearly to the top of her knee.

She appeared to be going over some details with her drummer Ash Soan and her bassist Jon Evans.

Amos’ tour began in West Palm Beach, Florida, on June 17, and and the 28-date tour will take her throughout the Northeast, the Midwest and out to the West Coast.

She’s set to play major cities including Boston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.

Amos, a singer and pianist, holds the distinction of being the youngest person ever admitted to the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University at age five, though her scholarship was discontinued early due to behavior issues.

After leading the 1980s-era pop band Y Kant Tori Read, she set off on a solo career and saw her greatest commercial and critical successes.

The red-haired songstress has had several hit singles throughout the years, and she has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards.

She’s touring behind her most recent album, 2021’s Ocean To Ocean.
