A teenager dressed up as a Teletubby was stabbed in the back twice while he was walking home from an 18th birthday party.

Ezra Faasolo, 19, and his friend, who was dressed as the Hulk, left an 18-year-old girl’s party on East Kurrajong Rd in North Richmond, northwest Sydney, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

By about 12.30am the party had reportedly been overrun by gatecrashers and the girl’s parents were forced to send people home before the situation escalated further.

While Mr Faasolo and his friends were walking home from the party, three males confronted the teenagers, punching the 19-year-old in the head and stabbing him twice in his lower back.

Mr Faasolo’s friend bundled him into the back of his car and drove about 10 minutes away to a nearby service station.

His friend, still wearing his Hulk costume, ran to the front desk of the store to ask the cashier for the address and about two minutes later paramedics and police officers arrived.

Mr Faasolo was rushed to the Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition with life-threatening injuries.

‘I didn’t see the wound but it looked really bad,’ station worker Suresh Chirumamilla told Nine News.

‘He was faint and when they called out he was without clothes.’

It is not known why the teens chose to drive so far from the scene to the fuel station but police said it will be considered in their investigation.

Police said the group who confronted the teens fled the scene in a dark car and were last seen travelling north along East Kurrajong Road.

The males have been described as being of Pacific Islander and Maori appearance, aged in their late teens to early 20s, and with heavy builds.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
