A man has died after he was pulled unconscious from the water at a popular Sydney beach.
The man, aged in his 40s, had been swimming at Curl Curl Beach, on Sydney’s northern beaches, on Sunday morning.
Tragedy struck before he was pulled unconscious from the water at 11am later that morning.

Paramedics rushed the man to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
He later died at the hospital.
Police will prepare a report of the coroner.
Emergency services were seen on the sand attempting to perform CPR on the swimmer after he was pulled from the water.
Shocked bystanders watched on as paramedics tried in vain to save the man.
An abandoned boogie board and towel were seen left on the sand after the man was lifted into an ambulance and taken to hospital.
