MasterChef Australia star Poh Ling Yeow forms tender new relationship following heartbreaking death
Poh Ling Yeow has shared an update after announcing the death of her beloved dog, Rhino.
The MasterChef Australia star posted a photo to Instagram cuddled up to her surviving pup, Tim, and says she’s grown closer to him in the months since the loss.
‘Just a couple months ago there’s no way Tim would lie so close to me for more than five seconds because he’s always been subservient to the pecking order,’ the 49-year-old wrote.
‘For the past three weeks, after I pick him up from Aunty Kim’s and fall into a post market heap, we’ve been taking bean bag naps together and today he properly nestled his his lil noggin into my neck which was just the bees knees and an absolute first in nine years,’ she went on.
‘This new little relationship that’s forming between us has been such a great lesson for not allowing my longing for what is gone, fog my vision to what’s present and precious,’ Poh concluded.

In April, Poh announced the sad news that Rhino had died.
‘My lil Rhinoceros is gone,’ the cook revealed in the caption alongside a shooting star emoji.
Poh frequently shared photos of Rhino to her social media alongside her other dog, Tim.
She used the hashtag ‘#rhinoandtim’ when sharing the adventures of her beloved animals.
Poh earlier said after the loss of Rhino, Tim came out of his shell.
‘They would sleep together but didn’t interact much. Rhino was soulful but demanding and Tim eternally easy going, so in many ways he’s always been prioritised second, but right now he’s having his time in the sun!’ she wrote.

She went on: ‘He now enjoys full speed walks without a leash because he is such a good boy – we had to slow right down for Rhino since he became blind.
‘I miss Rhino so much but can see the sunny side of his absence leaving a spot for Tim to finally shine.’
In addition to running the Jamface café in Adelaide, Poh is well known as a fan favourite on MasterChef.
She was the runner-up on the first season of the cooking competition in 2009 and returned in 2020 on the Back to Win edition, where she placed 6th.
