The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon trailer finds Norman Reedus’ beloved character in France

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon trailer finds Norman Reedus’ beloved character trekking through France amid all the zombie destruction

AMC has released a tantalizing new teaser for their new spin-off series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, premiering this fall.

The footage shows Norman Reedus’ beloved title character was last seen leaving the Commonwealth on his motorcycle leaving on a new journey.

AMC has previously released new clips that reveal Daryl washing ashore on an overturned lifeboat on the coast of France, though it’s unclear how he got there after leaving the Commonwealth.

The new trailer – via AMC YouTube – doesn’t offer any further answers to those questions, aside from confirming that Daryl is in France.

Reedus, 54, was previously spotted on the set of this Walking Dead spin-off in Paris back in February.

The trailer begins with Daryl walking alone, using a spear of some kind as a walking stick and a would-be weapon if he were to come across any zombies.

He’s seen walking over picturesque stone arch bridges in France, while walking past some graffiti that reads, ‘pouvoir des vivants’ – which translates to ‘power of the living.’

Dixon is then seen walking into a seemingly abandoned laboratory, while a zombie hand is raised as the brief trailer comes to an end.

There is already speculation this lab could be the same one that was shown in the post-credits scene of the first season finale of another spin-off, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, though that has yet to be confirmed.

That lab was also the very same one that was mentioned way back in the Season 1 finale of The Walking Dead by CDC doctor Edwin Jenner (Noah Emmerich).

That post-credits scene also showed video journals Jenner recorded at the CDC – before he blew up the lab – and sent to the French scientists.

There is also speculation that the French lab is actually where the zombie virus was born, though that has yet to be confirmed.

As to Daryl, it’s unclear what he came to France for, though another clip released last week showed Daryl washing up on the French coast before speaking into a digital recorder, leaving a message for… someone.

‘My name is Daryl Dixon. I come from a place called the Commonwealth. It’s in America,’ Daryl begins.

‘I went out looking for something, and all I found was trouble. If I don’t make it back, want ’em to know I tried. Hell, I’m still trying,’ he concluded.

The series also stars Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.

The show is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner David Zabel, Reedus, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath and Daniel Percival.
