Sex Education will end after its fourth season, which will be released on September 21.
Netflix announced the sad news on Wednesday, along with the first trailer for the final series.
The show debuted on the streaming platform in 2019 and proved very popular with viewers and critics alike.
In a letter to fans, creator, lead writer and executive producer, Laurie Nunn said: ‘We’ve decided the fourth season will also be the final installment of our show.
‘This was not an easy decision to make but as the themes and stories of the new season crystallised, it became clear that this was the right time to graduate.’

She continued: ‘We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast and crew who put so much heart into making every episode.
‘They have worked tirelessly to bring you the final series, and we can’t wait to share it with you.’
The trailer for the series shows the main character Otis Milburn addressing a crowd of students at school as he introduces himself.
He begins: ‘I spend a lot of my free time thinking about sex. I live and breathe sex, all day, everyday.’
He then adds: ‘Thinking about sex comes very naturally, because I learned everything I know about sex from my mum,’ leading to gasps from the audience.
His best friend Eric Effiong, jumps up to help saying: ‘Otis, for goodness sake just tell them you’re a sex therapist.’
The plot of season four reads: ‘Following the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier – their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College.
‘Otis is nervous about setting up his new clinic, whilst Eric is praying they won’t be losers again.
‘But Cavendish is a culture shock for all the Moordale students – they thought they were progressive but this new college is another level. There’s daily yoga in the communal garden, a strong sustainability vibe and a group of kids who are popular for being… kind?!

Asa Butterfield leads the cast of the show alongside Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee-Lou Wood, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro, Jim Howick, Rakhee Thakrar and Daniel Ings.
