Amanda, 52, told co-host Jamie Theakston, also 52: ‘I’m not gonna lie. I feel a bit depressed today.’

She continued: ‘I think there might be lots of mummy and daddy’s that feel like me today. I was kind of okay.

‘And then I saw, I went down to the prep gate of my daughter’s school yesterday to watch her and all her little friends who she’s been at that school with since she was four leave.

‘And they all came out of the gates, all in tears… except my daughter. It was like, “I don’t know why everyone’s crying, mummy, we’re gonna see them in year seven in the mix school”. And I’m like, “it’s an end of an era”.’

Jamie asked Amanda if she was in tears.

She said ‘Well, I was absolutely fine until I gave one of my favourite teachers […] a hug because she’s just been an exemplary teacher and got Hollie through so much.

‘And I gave her a cuddle and then I started crying. I’m thinking about it now It’s just making me like very sad. It’s like it’s the end of era…they’re 11….’

Mocking her playfully, Jamie said: ‘It’s not, it’s the end of the term.

Amanda replied: ‘And then they go up to big school and you don’t meet them anymore. And they don’t.. and they just grunt at you, and you can’t get any information out of them.

‘And it all starts. I’ve just I’ve got 17-and-a-half-year-old and they’re still going on the grunting…’

Jamie asked: ‘Can I ask you another question, did you celebrate with any of the other mums afterwards?’

She said: ‘Well every year me and my lovely school mums who I also couldn’t live without right. All go to the park have a picnic. A liquid picnic.

‘We all take our picnics and blankets and yesterday our brollies. We sat under the brollies reminiscing with our rosé.

‘It started at 12 and it finished at  seven o’clock…’

Amanda is also mother to daughter Lexi, 17, who she shares with husband Chris Hughes.
