Britney Spears allegedly took a slap to the face after a celebrity encounter gone wrong with the San Antonio Spurs player Victor Wembanyama.
The alleged assault on the 41-year-old pop superstar took place on Wednesday night in Las Vegas, where Britney was enjoying some time together with her husband Sam Asghari.
DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Spears and Wembanyama.
The songstress was at the Catch restaurant in the ARIA Hotel around 8:30 p.m. with Sam and two other people for dinner, where she had to brave crowds of adoring fans.
But as she was arriving, she caught sight of Wembanyama, whom she’s a fan of, so she attempted to take a photo with the NBA star.

That’s when a member of his security team allegedly got physical with her, TMZ reports.
Spears reportedly got close enough to Wembanyama to tap him on the back of his right shoulder to get his attention.
Sources say the Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs spotted the attempted interaction and swiftly gave Spears a backhanded slap to the face.
The blow was reportedly strong enough to knock the singer to the floor, and it even knocked her glasses of her head.
Despite the shocking altercation, Spears got to her feet and went back to her table while staying composed.
The same man who had hit her in the face then reportedly dropped by her table to apologize.
‘You understand how it is when you’re being swarmed by fans,’ he reportedly told her before saying he was sorry.
Source also said he claimed not to have realized that it was the internationally famous pop star trying to get Wembanyama’s attention, and not just a random fan.
At the time, Spears apparently accepted his apology, but things seem to have changed when her own security team got involved.
They reportedly conferenced with the Spurs’ Director of Team Security, and after chatting with him they filed a police report with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department accusing him of battery.
It’s unclear if Spears’ security filed the police report with her consultation, or if she only ‘accepted’ the Spurs’ security guard’s apology to help defuse a tense situation.
